World Series Of Poker Final Table Payouts: What The Players At The Final Table Took Home After Taxes This Year

Horseshoe Las Vegas - Paris Las Vegas

World Series Of Poker

May 27th - July 16th, 2025

----------

This year's WSOP Main Event kicked off on July 2nd with 9,735 poker players from all over the world hoping to win the championship bracelet, along with 10 million dollars in cold hard cash.

{Daily Play}

Playing five two-hour levels (10 hours of play) plus 20-minute breaks after each level, and a 75- or 90-minute dinner break, added up to a grueling 13-hour day from the start to finishing play, getting down to the final nine players.

The finish (Final Table) was played on July 15th & 16th.

That adds up to a lot of poker, folks!

So, what is the final pot at the end of the rainbow worth to the final nine?

Here’s a breakdown of how much in taxes each of the nine finalists at the 2025 WSOP Main Event final table actually paid, along with their approximate after‑tax take‑home pay.

Click On Pic To Enlarge

These estimates are based on analysis by tax expert Russ Fox and published tax breakdowns of the final table prizes. Total prize fund at the final table was $31.05 million, with about $10.05 million withheld—an effective overall rate of ~32.37%

Notably, Hallaert (Belgium) and Bojović (Austria) paid no U.S. tax, thanks to favorable tax treaties that exempt their gambling winnings from IRS withholding

Other players, including all U.S. residents and Leo Margets (Spain) and Daehyung Lee (South Korea), were taxed heavily, some losing nearly half their earnings to U.S. federal tax plus local taxes elsewhere

In the end, the 2025 WSOP Main Event final table was as much about endurance and mental toughness as it was about the staggering payouts. With the top finishers walking away with millions, but not all of it stays in their pockets. While the winner (Michael Mizrachi) secured a life-changing 10 million dollars, players from taxable jurisdictions could owe as much as 30% to 50% of their winnings, depending on residency and tax treaties. Whether taxed in the U.S. or abroad, Uncle Sam (and other governments) always gets a piece of the action.

At the final table, poker dreams come true, and so do some serious tax bills!

Good luck at the tables, and with your taxes!

Motormouth Promotions Debuts Loud And Proud Inside The Bootlegger Italian Bistro' Copa Room Friday Night: The New Era Of Vamp'd Beyond Is Upon Us!

Las Vegas witnessed a brand-new chapter in its local music scene Friday night as Motormouth Promotions made its powerful debut at the Copa Room inside the iconic Bootlegger Italian Bistro. This wasn’t just another night of live music; it was a local music industry statement that music is hotter than ever in the local Las Vegas music scene! Four bands, each with their own fierce identity and style, brought their massive raw energy and authentic grit to a packed and eager crowd inside the Copa!

Event Page

The opening heater (Band) for the night:

Heroine Honey kicked off the night with a sonic punch, blending gritty vocals and bold stage presence with heavy, hard-driving riffs that screamed rock 'n' roll revival. They set the bar high with a fearless performance that made it clear the night was about more than music—it was about momentum!

Next up..

Dellacoma followed with a ferocious set that fused alt-metal edge and emotional depth. Their performance was tight, intense, and electric, showing off a band that’s not just playing shows, but building a movement. Frontman energy, thundering rhythm, and some serious guitar work had the crowd buzzing with fists raised high!

Velvet Chains, a name not only buzzing around the Las Vegas music scene, but around the world. VC delivered what many fans came for. Polished, radio-ready hard rock with heart. Their sound, somewhere between Sunset Strip swagger and modern grit, showcased not just talent but experience. Through the night band members left the stage and went into the audience to get closer to their fans. And their fans really dug it! Velvet Chains had the audience in full sing-along mode from the beginning of their set, to their last song of the night. And they left the Copa Room's stage owning it!

The Featured Band..

Closing out the night was Jason Walker and the Majestic 12, who brought their signature blend of classic rock vibes and modern-day storytelling. Walker’s vocal delivery was soulful and commanding, backed by a band of top-shelf artists who know how to groove, jam, and strike the emotional chords of fans. It was the perfect finale, to a perfect night of A-List Top-Shelf bands, raw, real, and resonant!

{My Take}

Motormouth Promotions' "Vamp'd Beyond" came out swinging Friday night with a Hard Rock Music Extravaganza showcase that not only got the full attention of Las Vegas music fans, but the entire music world! Their first night at the Copa Room wasn’t a test, it was a triumph that will go down in the music history of Las Vegas. From the euphoric atmosphere, to the awesome lineup of Top-Shelf Bands, to the sights and sounds that filled the historic venue, Motormouth Promotions' Vegas Beyond's debut proved that Las Vegas still has a pulse for real, live, local music!

Once again, Korie & Danny Koker have shown why they're such a huge driving force behind the Local Las Vegas Music Scene! Thank you both for a night to remember!

This fan (And Journalist) can't wait to see what's next for Motormouth Promotions and for Vamp'd Beyond!

How Local Bands Break Out: The Real Path To Touring Success

Since moving to Las Vegas in 1999 and focusing my writing on music and entertainment, I've seen many local bands come onto the music scene that had the talent to take their bands to the next level of success. To perform at the regional level, or even to tour with national bands. A few have made it, others have fallen short. It takes a band that's got it together in many ways, both on and off of the stage. To me, these bands start off really strong, and after a few years, or even a few months, they either taper off or become even stronger when they're closer to reaching the next level of success.

Local bands that break through and become "touring status", meaning they’re able to play regional or national tours regularly and sustainably, tend to share a set of core traits. These go beyond just musical talent. Here are some of the top characteristics that push bands over the top that I've noticed as a fan and as a 50-plus-year music and entertainment journalist & writer. Or as I like to call myself, A Superfan of Music :-)

 Professionalism

They show up on time, load in/out quickly, and treat every gig like a business.

Respect for venue staff, sound engineers, and other bands earns repeat bookings and word-of-mouth.

Relentless Work Ethic

They rehearse often, constantly tighten their set, and never settle.

Treat every show as a chance to level up—not just to play.

Branding and Identity

They have a distinct look, sound, and vibe. Fans remember them.

From logos to stage wear to social media tone, they present a consistent, intentional brand.

Smart Marketing and Promotion

They promote hard before every show, tag venues, engage with fans, and use email/text marketing.

Actively build a mailing list and online presence with a purpose.

Quality content (photos, video, livestreams, behind-the-scenes) is a staple.

Strong Networking

They build and maintain relationships with:

Promoters

Booking agents

Other bands (for support slots or show swaps)

Journalists/bloggers/podcasters (With Me) :-)

They don’t burn bridges, even in rough scenes.

Recorded Music That Competes

They invest in high-quality recording (doesn't mean expensive, but clean, pro-level).

Their tracks sound radio-ready and get playlisted or featured.

They release consistently and strategically, not just dump songs randomly.

Tour-Readiness

They organize and self-book early tours.

Understand how to route efficiently, budget wisely, and handle logistics.

Ready with merch, a solid live set, and the stamina for back-to-back nights.

A Powerful Live Show

They bring energy, charisma, and connection to every stage, big or small.

They don’t play like a local band; they play like headliners, even if they’re opening.

Visual presence and crowd interaction set them apart.

Merch and Revenue Strategy

They sell well-designed merch (shirts, vinyl, patches, etc.) and know how to push it live.

Often have multiple income streams: sync licensing, Patreon, online sales, etc.

Long-Term Vision

They treat the band like a business, with goals, plans, and measurable progress.

They sacrifice for the bigger picture, often turning down smaller gigs or distractions to focus on what moves them forward.

{My Take}

Breaking out of the local scene and into the touring circuit doesn’t happen overnight. It takes hustle, professionalism, and a relentless belief in your music. But for the bands willing to put in the work, the road is waiting—and so are the fans.

My Eulogy For The Prince Of Darkness Rest In Peace Ozzy: Mama He's Coming Home

Few names in rock and metal history evoke as much reverence and rebellion as Ozzy Osbourne.

The “Prince of Darkness” didn’t just help create heavy metal; he embodied it. From his working-class roots in Birmingham, England to the grand stages of global superstardom, Ozzy’s journey was wild, unfiltered, tragic, triumphant, and always unforgettable!

Ozzy first broke onto the scene as the frontman for Black Sabbath in 1969, a band whose dark riffs and ominous tone would define a genre. With tracks like “Paranoid,” “War Pigs,” and “Iron Man,” Ozzy’s haunting vocals became the voice of a generation disillusioned by war and politics, craving something raw and real. He didn’t sing songs, he unleashed them.

After Sabbath, Ozzy’s solo career soared higher than anyone expected. With the help of guitar prodigy Randy Rhoads, albums like Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman proved he wasn’t just a metal frontman; he was a cultural force. Songs like “Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley” are now eternal anthems of rock radio, and his stage presence, equal parts chaos and charisma, made him a must-see act for all music fans of all ages!

But Ozzy’s impact goes far beyond music. His resilience in the face of addiction, personal loss, and public scrutiny is part of his legend. He was real when the world wanted polished. He was vulnerable when the world expected bravado. He became a reality TV icon later in life, and still somehow never lost his identity, a feat few artists can claim.

Ozzy Osbourne isn’t just a rock star. He’s a survivor, a pioneer, and a voice that refused to be silenced. Whether you knew him from Sabbath, MTV, or the stage at Ozzfest, his influence is undeniable. He opened the gates for generations of artists, and his legacy continues to thunder through every power chord and growl that echoes in his wake!

Here’s to Ozzy Osbourne, The bat-biting, boundary-breaking, genre-defining godfather of metal.

We've all been blessed to know you through your awesome music!

May you live forever as the Prince of Darkness!

Las Vegas Local Music Scene Reloaded: Local Music Venues That Have Taken The Spotlight In Las Vegas

After the closings of Count's Vamp'd late last month, and Club Madrid inside Sunset Station Hotel just a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure that most local music fans (Including myself) have been eagerly waiting for another music venue or two to step up and fill the void in our local music scene as far as showcasing local bands is concerned. I'm here today to recognize two of these music venues that have stepped up their game and have taken the lead in booking shows with our local music talent (Bands).

There are a dozen or so local music venues around town that you can count on that always bring their A Game, supporting our local music scene and bands. Two of these venues really have caught my attention this past month.

Beginning with the Tuscany Suites Casino.

When I looked at their Facebook page and website, I've got to say that Tuscany's entertainment calendar is really impressive! They've got a show for every music taste there is! Plus, they shine the bright spotlights on our local music scene and bands! Take a look at their upcoming calendar for August, and you'll see just what I mean.

Another music venue (Awesome Restaurant) that stands out in Las Vegas and has my attention is the Bootlegger Italian Bistro

Talking about turning the volume up in our local music scene! The Bootlegger Spotlights Live Entertainment every night of the week!

Bootlegger Entertainment

Plus, with the emergence of MOTORMOUTH Promotions (July 25th Music Presentation). Check out the event flyer above. I expect the Bootlegger Bistro to be a leader in the Las Vegas Music and Entertainment scenes for many years in the future!

Delicious food, live entertainment every night of the week, and MOTORMOUTH Promotions handling local bands' promotions. Looks like Las Vegas has another winner!

Sending out big thanks to the Tuscany and to the Bootlegger Italian Bistro for helping keep live music alive in Las Vegas!

Top Ranked US Cities Where Musicians Can Make The Most Out Of Their Profession

I hear a lot of complaints about how the Local Las Vegas music scene has declined over the past few years, and how working conditions and pay have went down. Can the music scene in Vegas be this bad? After a few phone calls to my friends in Nashville and New York, and after a few hours of research, I dug up some facts about what US Cities have the best consistent pay opportunities for professional musicians.,

The U.S. cities with the most performing opportunities for professional musicians typically combine several elements, which include:

1. High volume of venues and gigs.

2. Active nightlife and tourism.

3. Industry presence (labels, studios, media). Festivals, events, and residencies.

5. And a vibrant music culture (scene).

Based on recent data gathered from across the US. (2024–2025)

Concert listings, venue statistics, and industry rankings. Here are the top U.S. cities for consistent paid performance opportunities.

Vegas Vibes And Venom: Why Are There Haters In The Local Las Vegas Music Scene

If there's one thing about the local music scene in Las Vegas that gets under my skin, it's the jealousy and the haters that seem to hang around. Just in the last few days, while surfing on Facebook, I read three very discouraging posts about local musicians written by other local musicians. That's a big No-No in my book! It's an everyday occurrence. It's time that this situation should be addressed!

In the heart of Las Vegas, where neon lights meet gritty guitar riffs and club stages pulse with live energy, the local music scene is as vibrant as it is competitive, but beneath the surface of awesome talent and well-targeted ambition lies a surprising undercurrent of hate. Whether it’s jealousy, clashing egos, or the struggle for recognition in a crowded field, many musicians find that the biggest challenge isn’t making it big; it’s surviving the shade thrown from their own backyard.

The Las Vegas local music scene, like many other tight-knit creative communities, can sometimes feel overrun with “haters.” Here are a few reasons why this may be happening.

High Competition, Limited Opportunities

Vegas is oversaturated with talent—musicians, tribute bands, and DJs all vying for the same limited stages, especially on the Strip and in key off-Strip venues. This scarcity can foster resentment among peers.

Ego, Insecurity, and Image Battles

In a city where image and perception are everything, egos can be fragile. Musicians often compare themselves to others, leading to:

Backhanded compliments.

Public (or private) criticism.

Undermining others’ achievements to make themselves feel more relevant.

Clickiness and Local Politics

The Vegas music scene can feel like high school, cliques dominate. Booking agents, bar managers, and band members tend to favor “their people,” creating a divide between the "in crowd" and the outsiders.

Newcomers may feel frozen out.

Veterans may dismiss fresh talent.

Social Media Amplifies Negativity

Las Vegas musicians often promote on Facebook and Instagram, where gossip, vague-posting, and passive-aggressive drama thrive. A single bitter comment can turn into a wildfire of shade and snark.

Jealousy of Success in a Small Pond

When one local act starts pulling big crowds, opening for national tours, or landing casino contracts, it often sparks envy instead of support, because others view that success as something they deserve.

Everyone Knows Everyone

Vegas is a transient, yet weirdly small city. Burn one bridge, and word gets around fast. Sometimes what seems like "hate" is actually the result of:

Past personal drama.

Professional falling outs.

Bruised reputations that never got repaired.

{My Take}

Despite all the conflicts, Vegas is full of passionate, hardworking, and loyal music fans and musicians who do lift each other up. But in a scene this intense, the hate tends to echo louder than the applause, unless you actively choose to support, collaborate, and stay out of the drama. To quote the old saying. United We Stand, Divided We Fall ..

Band T's That Bank Vintage Tee Shirts That Are Worth Some Serious Bread!

If you're an old rocker like me. You've got old concert t-shirts lying around your home, in the closet, or in boxes stacked up in your garage. Has it ever crossed your mind that some of these old music souvenir t-shirts might be worth some serious bread $$?

Like old vinyl records, collectors might be willing to shell out some major dough if you have the right one (T-Shirt) and are ready to part with it!

Led Zeppelin 1979 Knebworth Concert Tee (Pictured Above)

Value: $1,500 – $2,000+

Why it’s valuable: Rare, limited release for their final UK show. Authentic originals are hard to find in wearable condition.

The Rolling Stones 1972 North American Tour Tee

Value: $1,200 – $1,800

Why it’s valuable: Featuring the classic tongue logo and Andy Warhol influence, this shirt is iconic and heavily counterfeited, making legit versions gold.

Metallica 1986 Master of Puppets Tour Tee

Value: $1,000 – $1,500

Why it’s valuable: Cliff Burton’s last tour; hardcore metal collectors covet it. Often bootlegged, originals are rare.

Nirvana 1993 In Utero Tour Tee

Value: $800 – $1,200

Why it’s valuable: Kurt Cobain’s final tour. The dark, grunge aesthetic adds to its cultural and emotional weight.

AC/DC 1981 Back in Black Tour Tee

Value: $800 – $1,000

Why it’s valuable: Tribute tour for Bon Scott. It's a fan and collector favorite with powerful historical context.

Guns N' Roses 1987 Appetite for Destruction Tour Tee

Value: $700 – $900

Why it’s valuable: Limited early tour merch before the band exploded. Features the original banned artwork on some versions.

The Who 1982 Farewell Tour Tee

Value: $600 – $850

Why it’s valuable: Marketed as their final tour (spoiler: it wasn’t). These tees were made in smaller quantities and have retro appeal.

Pink Floyd 1977 Animals Tour (In the Flesh) Tee

Value: $600 – $800

Why it’s valuable: Psychedelic designs + pig imagery = collector catnip. Scarce in good shape.

Prince 1984 Purple Rain Tour Tee

Value: $500 – $750

Why it’s valuable: Iconic album, iconic tour, and Prince’s global superstardom. These are now museum-worthy.

Grateful Dead 1978 Egypt Concert Tee

Value: $500 – $700

Why it’s valuable: Sold only at the historic Egypt shows. Psychedelic art and Deadhead culture drive demand.

Values depend on condition, size, tag authenticity, and whether the print is single-stitch original or a reprint. Some shirts have auctioned for even more when tied to iconic performances or worn by band members.

{My Take}

Whether you're a serious collector or just a nostalgic fan, vintage concert tees offer more than just style—they’re wearable history. From rare tour merch to iconic band logos, these shirts have become prized possessions worth big bucks. As values continue to rise, now might be the perfect time to dig through your old drawers or hit the thrift shops. You never know—you could be sitting on a $2,000 piece of rock ‘n’ roll history.

Las Vegas Bands Tell Your Fans That You Are There And They Will Come!?

If You Build It, He (They) Will Come. I think that most everyone knows this quote, and that it comes from the movie "Field Of Dreams"! It may have been true in the film, but as far as entertainment (Bands), it's a whole other ball game altogether!

Let's face it. If local bands don't take the time to market and advertise their gigs, they risk attracting a small crowd to their event. Just posting an event one time is not the way to play the game.

Just recently, I asked bands to post an event flyer on my Facebook page, and in turn, I would include it in a blog post for weekend events in Las Vegas. Here is one of them that really caught my attention.

The Bonfire Las Vegas

This music event flyer is a great example of what I'm talking about!

Awesome "eye-catching" graphics, and they follow the "Five W's" Rule of advertising. Including Who, What, When, Where, and Why on their event flyer (or in their event posts).

{Talking About Event Flyers}

Creating an effective event flyer for bands is all about catching attention, giving key information fast, and building excitement. Here's a checklist of what to include for an awesome flyer to advertise a future gig for your band.

Choose the Right Tool

Use design software or apps depending on your comfort level:

Beginner-friendly: Canva, PosterMyWall, Adobe Express

Advanced: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Affinity Designer

Pick a Size/Format

Common sizes:

8.5" x 11" (standard flyer)

Square (for social media)

Digital vertical/poster format (1080x1920 for Instagram Stories, Facebook events)

What to Include on a Band Event Flyer

Headline / Event Name

Big, bold, and exciting. Make it instantly clear what the event is.

Example: “Live Rock Night!” or “Tribute Bands Take Over The Bonfire Las Vegas!”

Band Name(s)

Make this stand out—use band logos or consistent branding if available.

Date and Time

Essential! Use a clear format.

Example: Saturday, August 17, 2025 – Doors at 8PM, Show at 9PM

Venue Name and Address

Include full name and location.

Backstage Bar & Billiards - Fremont Street East, Downtown Las Vegas, NV

Ticket Info

Price (e.g., $15 cover at the door)

Where to buy tickets (online link or box office info)

Mention if it’s 21+ or All Ages

Supporting Acts or Special Guests

List any openers or featured performers.

Call-to-Action

Encourage people to attend or buy tickets.

“Get your tickets now!” or “Don’t miss this one-night-only event!”

Design Elements

Band images or promo shots

Genre indicators (rock, metal, funk, etc.)

Logos of sponsors, venue, or promoters

Social media handles or QR code

Contact or Social Links

Optional but useful if people have questions or want to follow the band or venue.

Design Tips

Keep it readable: Don’t overload with info. Use 2–3 fonts max.

Use contrast: Dark background with light text or vice versa.

Brand it: Match the vibe of the music (grungy, funky, retro, etc.)

Hierarchy: Make the band name and date the biggest elements.

{My Take}

A great flyer grabs attention, sets the tone of the event, and gives fans all the details they need at a glance. Whether printed or digital, your flyer should reflect the energy of the music and of the band(s) and make people want to show up & rock!

 Friday July 11th, 2025

"What an awesome way to start off the weekend, but with The Spazmatics LV, these guys are the only Rockstars that I know of that can be called musical nerds. And they're the best in the music biz at doing it"!

"They make 80s new wave, pop rock music fun to listen to and to hit the dance floor with. And their antics onstage are hilarious to say the least. A show that blends music with comedy at its best."

The Spazmatics lit up the Chrome Showroom inside the Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino on Friday night, delivering an electrifying, nostalgia-fueled 1980s tribute that had the crowd dancing nonstop for their entire two-hour performance. With their signature skinny ties, Brill‑creamed hair, and horn‑rimmed glasses, the band brought infectious energy to hits spanning synth-pop and new wave, perfectly capturing the era’s stylish quirks and high-octane fun. The Spazmatics kept the party going with tunes that included Power Of Love, Tainted Love, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, I Love Rock n' Roll, Working For The Weekend, Jessie's Girl, and Party Like It's 1999 among many others.

With their signature geek-chic style and crowd-pleasing covers, they had the audience dancing, singing, and laughing all night long. It was a fun-filled, amazing night of music and high jinks that proved once again why the Spazmatics Las Vegas are one of the most entertaining live music acts around!

What Local Las Vegas Musicians And Fans Want To Experience In Their Local Music Venues

I recently had an open discussion on Facebook about why local venues needed to start charging an entrance fee for their free concerts that they put on. This discussion led to the question, "Other than an entrance fee, what changes need to be made to music venues around town to make them more of a lucrative proposition business-wise'? Where they could stay open. There were plenty of comments!

Here is a breakdown of what my friends on Facebook (Fans & Musicians) want to experience in their local music venues around town.

Great Sound Quality

Clear, balanced acoustics are essential.

Fans expect to hear every note—especially vocals and solos—without distortion or volume overload.

A good sound engineer and high-quality gear make all the difference.

Stage Lights And Lighting

Adequate lighting for fans and photographers to take pictures of the band members onstage.

Affordable Drink and Food Prices

Overpriced drinks and limited food options are a turnoff.

Fans appreciate local brews, themed cocktails, and snacks that don't break the bank.

Clean, Comfortable Environment

Clean bathrooms, enough seating (or at least standing space), and good air conditioning or heating are key.

Good sightlines to the stage from most areas of the room.

Diverse and Local Lineups

{My Take}

First, I'd like to thank all of my friends for their comments on my Facebook post. You made my job much easier writing this blog post. :-)

In the end, what music fans truly want from their local venues is more than just a place to watch a show; they’re looking for a space that feels like home. A spot where the music sounds great, the staff is welcoming, the atmosphere is electric, and every visit feels like part of something bigger. When venues prioritize community, comfort, and quality experiences, they don’t just fill the room; they build lasting loyalty and help keep the local music scene alive and thriving! And that's what fans and musicians want!

Why Local Las Vegas Music Venues Should Start Charging For Their “Free” Concerts In The Future!

With the closings of Count's Vamp'd in June, and Club Madrid inside Sunset Station Hotel Casino just this past weekend. It raises a few questions for me. Both venues provided free entertainment a majority of the time. While making their profits on refreshments (Plus food sales at Count's Vamp'd) alone. Neither venue mentioned money as a reason for their closings. But as we all know, bands and entertainment don't come cheap! Plus, sound and lighting techs. And the expense of just opening the doors. It Ain't Cheap!

Could charging for free concerts and music keep local Las Vegas music venues alive?

Here's my thoughts.

In a city known for entertainment, Las Vegas' local music venues are vital to its cultural fabric. These intimate stages are where local talent grows, where loyal fans connect, and where the spirit of live music is kept alive night after night. Yet many of these venues offer live music for free, relying on food and drink sales or casino backing (Hotel Showrooms) to cover costs. But as times change and expenses rise, it’s time to rethink that model.

Charging even a modest cover—$5 or $10—can make a meaningful difference.

It helps cover the rising costs of sound engineers, security, lighting techs, and the musicians themselves. Many of these bands spend hours rehearsing, hauling gear, and delivering professional-quality performances. A paid ticket signals to the audience that what they’re seeing has value, and encourages more respectful, engaged crowds to attend. There used to be a "2 Drink Minimum" at many venues in the past. What happened to that?

Moreover, charging helps venues stay afloat. The reality is: without revenue from the door, more venues will close. We’ve already seen beloved spots like Count’s Vamp’d and Club Madrid at Sunset Station shut their doors. Cover charges help keep the lights on, the sound systems running, and the booking calendars full.

Lastly, small fees help build a stronger local scene. When venues are profitable, they’re more likely to take risks on new acts, promote original music, and reinvest in better production. That’s a win for musicians and fans alike.

{My Take}

In a city where we tip for valet, pay resort fees, and spend $20 on cocktails, it’s time we also put value on the local music experience. A small cover charge is not a burden; it’s an investment in keeping live music alive in Las Vegas.

I Support Local Las Vegas Music & Bands!

Yellow Brick Road And Fans Say Goodbye To Club Madrid Inside Sunset Station Hotel Casino Las Vegas

{July 6th, 2025 - Club Madrid Sunset Station Hotel Casino Las Vegas, Nevada}

"The Final Call"

Just one week after saying an emotional goodbye to Count’s Vamp’d, a cornerstone of Las Vegas rock culture for over a decade. < Blog > Local music lovers gathered once again last night to witness the end of another prominent era in Las Vegas music history. Club Madrid at Sunset Station hosted its final show, closing its doors after years of unforgettable performances and fostering a strong sense of community spirit. The back-to-back farewells mark a turning point for the Vegas live music scene, as longtime fans and musicians alike reflect on the stages that shaped their sound, careers, and friendships. From the gritty energy of Vamp’d to the polished, fan-favorite vibes of Club Madrid, these venues weren’t just places—they were home for many!

It was the end of an era, and "The Final Call" as billed by Sunset Station, as Yellow Brick Road took the stage for one final performance inside Club Madrid, marking the venue’s emotional closing night. Two full hours of Classic Rock's best as only Yellow Brick Road can do them!

Yellow Brick Road didn't waste much time getting the jam-packed venue in a festive party spirit, with songs that included Rock n Roll Fantasy, Any Way You Want It, Running With The Devil, You Really Got Me, and Two Tickets To Paradise among many others.

Lead Vocals: Kelly Christian

Lead Guitar: Mark Cole

On Bass: David St. John

On Drums: Frank Klepacki

About midway through the night, Brody Dolyniuk, the original voice and founder of YBR, took the stage with the band and performed tunes that put Yellow Brick Road on the Las Vegas Music Scene's map over 25 years ago!

For years, YBR has been a cornerstone of Las Vegas' classic rock scene, delivering powerful renditions of Queen, Bowie, Pink Floyd, and more with unmatched musicianship. The room was packed with longtime fans and friends, many of whom had followed the band since their earliest gigs at the iconic Henderson venue. Cheers turned into tears as the band closed their set, honoring both the music and the memories made within those four walls.

As Club Madrid dims its lights for the last time, Yellow Brick Road gave it the send-off it truly deserved—loud, proud, and unforgettable!

Another Final Curtain Call As Club Madrid Bids Farewell Inside Sunset Station Hotel Casino

Just last week, local music fans said goodbye to Count's Vamp'd Rock Bar & Grill on June 28th.

< Blog >

Another one bites the dust (Music Venue) this month in just a few short days with the closing of Club Madrid inside of Sunset Station in Henderson, NV. Two big mainstays in the local music scene are about to be gone!

Club Madrid opened its doors in 1997. With seating for around 500 guests, the intimate lounge quickly became a hub for all genres of live music. It was a beloved fixture in the community thanks to its approachable atmosphere, free live shows, and diverse lineup, which featured everything from local bands to touring acts, national bands, and performers, as well as classic rock tribute artists and bands found their homes here!

However, in June 2025, Station Casinos announced a major redevelopment plan for Sunset Station. As part of this transformation, Club Madrid was to close on July 7, 2025, to make way for a sleek new casino bar inside the venue.

The closure was paired with a final celebratory weekend featuring free shows in the club.

Thursday July 3rd: Empire Records

Friday, July 4th: The Spazmatics LV

Sat, July 5th: 80's Night

Sun, July 6th: (Final Show Honors Goes To) Yellow Brick Road

(No Cover. Doors 8pm Show 9pm)

While Club Madrid had been a cornerstone since the late '90s, the resort is shifting toward a larger entertainment model. The much-anticipated Stoney’s Rockin’ Country venue, set to open in early 2026 will offer a 19,000‑sq‑ft stage, mechanical bull, VIP platforms, and a high-energy country theme, indicating a bold new direction for Sunset Station.

{My Take}

Club Madrid’s closing marks the end of a local lounge institution that brought countless live music memories to thousands! Its replacement with a contemporary casino bar and the forthcoming arrival of Stoney’s Rockin’ Country signal Sunset Station’s pivot toward a more expansive entertainment vision, blending nostalgia with the fresh energy of country music.

Is country music here to stay? Or will classic rock return one day?

Your guess is as good as mine!

I love them both!
